Open Call to Artists: Outdoor Installation at Marble Mountain (2026 Ski Season)


The Cloud Factory, in partnership with Marble Mountain, is pleased to invite artists to submit proposals for an outdoor art installation to be presented during the 2026 ski season.

We are seeking creative, site-responsive projects that engage with the natural, cultural, and recreational environment of Marble Mountain. Selected work will be installed on-site and remain on view throughout the 2026 ski season.

Project Details

  • Location: Marble Mountain (Steady Brook, NL)

  • Format: Outdoor installation

  • Duration: 2026 ski season

  • Installation Dates: To be determined in consultation with the selected artist(s)

Artist Compensation

Selected artist(s) will receive:

  • $2,000 artist fee

  • $100 Marble Mountain gift card

  • Two (2) day lift tickets

  • Two (2) High End Ski Rentals Set or High End Snowboard Rentals Set

  • Two (2) Hr Private/Semi-Private Lesson

An online information session will be held for interested applicants:

This session will provide an overview of the project and an opportunity to ask questions.

Eligibility

This call is open to emerging and established artists working in all disciplines. Individual artists and collaborative teams are welcome to apply.

Proposed projects must be suitable for outdoor installation and able to withstand sustained winter weather conditions.

Submission Requirements

Applicants should submit the following materials:

  1. Project proposal (maximum 500 words), including concept, materials, and installation approach

  2. Visual documentation of past work (up to 10 images or links)

  3. Artist CV or biography (maximum 2 pages)

  4. Contact information

  5. Please save documents within a single PDF

Deadline

All proposals must be received by:

February 15, 2026

We recognize this is a relatively short submission window, shaped by funding timelines and seasonal conditions. We appreciate the creative work that takes place within these constraints.

Selection Process

Proposals will be reviewed by a selection committee representing The Cloud Factory and Marble Mountain. Evaluation will be based on artistic merit, feasibility, site responsiveness, and durability in outdoor conditions. All proposals will be reviewed by Marble Mountain to ensure compliance with safety regulations. 

Selected artists will be notified following the review process.
